GM, NEVC, Wisconsin Officials Launch E85 Campaign
General Motors Corporation (GM) recently joined with the National
Ethanol Vehicle Coalition (NEVC) and the state of Wisconsin to launch
a new six-state initiative intended to increase the use of E85,
a blend of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent conventional
gasoline.
"E85 is only beginning to become more widely available, and we're pleased
to be able to provide consumers with an incentive to try this alternative
fuel and see the benefits for themselves," said GM Fleet and Commercial
Operations marketing director John Gaydash.
As part of the "I Fuel Good" direct-mail campaign, GM said owners
of model year 2002 and 2003 GM flexible fuel vehicles (FFVs) in Wisconsin,
Missouri, Colorado, Minnesota, Michigan and Illinois will
receive E85 "informational literature," a $40 debit card that can
be used to purchase E85 fuel and a list of local E85 fueling sites.
"We want to educate and encourage industry and consumers to use E85 in
their GM [FFVs] whenever possible," said Gaydash.
